It's New Year's Eve!!!

I can't believe its the last day of the year...and today has just flown by! Before I head off to make and eat some yummy food and spend some time with the kids and my hubby I wanted to share a couple of LOs that I made last night for the LSS...I can't use photos on these...so they are photoless LOL...I think in a few weeks when I have some Valentine photo's I will remake these LOs for myself :)

...and here's a card that I also just finished up...this was made for an old student of mine and his family...who just recently lost his father. My heart just aches for all of them.

I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe New Year's see you in 2009!!!

Happy Winter...and a recap of our Holiday

Well its already Week 37 over at Page Plans...this weeks LO sketch was made by Chris...

...we were asked to do a Winter Theme...and I just couldn't help but use the new photos I had of our kitty playing in all our new snow right before Christmas! I was so happy to have a WHITE Christmas this year :)

...the card sketch was made by me :) (I kinda veered away from the winter theme here and was thinking about Valentine's Day...but here in the Pacific Northwest...its still winter on Valentine's Day...)

Page Plans is having a New Year's Contest!!! Make sure you check back next week for all the details!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas - mine was quite BUSY!!! As we spent alot of time out out my parents. My sister and her family were in town from New Jersey. We played ALOT of Guitar Hero World Tour, which I don't think I even have any pictures of...I know my older sister took some...I was too busy playing the drums lol...singing karaoke, and sledding on a special hill that my dad made and of course eating WAY TOO MUCH food.

On Christmas Morning the kids got up at 5:50 am...we opened our gifts the kids were so excited with what they got...they told me these were their favorites...from this picture you can see just how excited Camryn was lol...

... all she really asked for this Christmas was the Little Pet Shop Ladybug...and it was hiding in the tree...when she saw it she literally was jumping for joy :)

Mason wanted the Bat Cave for Christmas and he hasn't stopped playing with it since Christmas morning...it has occupied his time for hours!

Ben got several DS games and other stuff but when I asked him what was his favorite gift he said it was this silly shirt!

Following are just some quick snap shots from my parents house...

I am looking forward to the New Year as I hope it will be a much better year then 2008!

I got one of the best Christmas Gifts...

...I was asked to join the Unity Stamp Co. Design Team...I am so happy!!! Thank you to the Unity Gals for looking at my work and liking it enough to pick me! To apply I just needed to submit two LOs - so for the call I decided to make two new ones...these are the two that I came up with...

I can not wait to get started...I love new challenges and working with stamps is relatively new and challenging for me...congrats to all the other ladies who also were selected - you can read more about them over on the UNITY BLOG.

Well it's Christmas Eve Already!

...and yes we did get our door in :) and no it didn't go in without a hitch (OF COURSE!!!) The men who came were very nice...but it did take a bit longer then expected and since we had to turn of the heat...the house got down to 62 degrees...it was pretty cold only about 18 degrees outside and it was snowing the entire time...lol...once it warms up we'll finish up ourselves or I should say I will finish up with some touch up painting and a couple of hole patching...I will need to call on a someone to help with the top molding on the inside but other then that its done. Back in September we ordered a VERY NICE door from Prefection Glass and ending up cancelling that order and getting our money back just days before the door was supposed to be installed because they NEVER actually ordered the darn door...so we ended up going with this new door that was half the price...it wasn't the door I wanted but it will do...One of these days I will end up with the door I want...I know it won't be in this house...Stuart has already promised me we won't be in this house too long...so the renters will have a nice door or if we end up selling the new owners will ;)

Another day where the snow was falling down...

...gotta love it!!! Well at least I do :)

I was able to make a few tags this afternoon...I think this will be the last time I will be in my scraproom till AFTER Christmas...there's just a couple things I didn't get done for Christmas...no biggie...maybe for New Years!!!

After the tags were finished Camryn and I headed into the kitchen to make a favorite holiday cookie...Candy Cane Crisps!

...yes I realize this is not the final baked cookie, but Ben my photographer for the day was no longer on duty...so this was all I got! Plus the final cookies didn't turn out so pretty this year because I got distracted and used sugar instead of powdered sugar...they still taste fine, but the sugar darkens a bit in the oven...were as if I would have used just the powdered sugar they wouldn't have browned so much! Luckily the kids don't seem to care...LOL

Tomorrow morning at 8:30 am Stuart and I are getting our Christmas present installed!!! Our new front door should be going up...yes, in the snow and freezing cold temperatures! I am preparing myself though...because we have the worst LUCK when it comes to construction!!! So I wouldn't be surprised in the least if we get a phone call saying, "sorry we will need to reschedule!"

Teacher Gifts are DONE and WRAPPED and READY to GO!!!

...except that the littles are canceled AGAIN tomorrow! So hopefully they will have school sometime this week so their teacher gifts can be delivered! This year both Camryn and Mason have 2 teachers...so I had to make 4 gifts...I made these cute "Cookies for Santa" plates using some vinyl and my Revolution and I added some Korintje Cinnamon from Pampered Chef and a recipe for some Snickerdoodles :) ...then I prettied (is that even a word lol) up the package and they are ready to go! WOO HOO!!!

Ben's teacher always is drinking slimfast and drinking diet drinks so Ben didn't think this gift would suit her - so he thought it would be best just to buy her a 1/2 rack of her favorite...diet vanilla cherry Dr. Pepper...he said she's gonna love it! I have a feeling she will :)

Holy Crap -20 degrees...

...with the wind chill!!! That's way too cold!!! And the kids just don't understand why I won't let them go outside! The wind and snow is still blowing but I don't think there's much snow...I'm not sure why there's a school delay...but there is...for Ben anyway...the littles are canceled...so SNOW DAY for them...we are going to make some cookies later...

Here are a few more pages in my December Daily Mini Book...

IT'S FREEZING OUTSIDE

...the wind is blowing and its still snowing...the temperature is about 15 degrees and we have a 2 hour delay...which means both Camryn and Mason have NO SCHOOL and Ben will have an alternate bus route...I am still trying to decide if I should try and walk him there or drive...

...for now I'm going to leave you with a few digital LOs...the first is my December Sketch from Di Hickman, I used the Merry & Bright Digital Kit by PamelaDonnisDesigns.

...the second layout I made for Page Plans yesterday, I used the Frosty Flurries digital kit by PamelaDonnisDesigns, Other elements used: Shabby Princess & Jennifer Pebbles.

...and the third layout...I used a NEW kit "Skate Date" created by PamelaDonnisDesigns. tfl

Its been SNOWING...

...off and on all day...and its REALLY COLD outside...last time I checked only 15 degrees!

I finally added my journaling to this LO I was working on last week and tried to get a good photo of it...its so hard to get good photos in the winter time lol...again I used some UNITY stamps...I took this photo of Ben on his 9th Birthday just this past October...I can't believe how grown up he looks...and he looks so handsome...well I think so anyway :) tfl

...last night we headed out to the lighted boat parade...we got to see the fireworks...but NO BOATS! We were out there for 45 minutes...it was snowing the entire time...about 29 degrees...we couldn't wait any longer for those darn boats...so we packed back up and headed up...but the fireworks sure were pretty!
